Our 2011 Reunion in Savannah, Georgia

Hi folks, Every one in Savannah seemed to have a great time. We had 74 attendees which is our largest reunion to date. We had eleven first timers, Joe & Linda Bernitt, Don & Kay Cook, Larry & Arlette Jeffries, Donna McAllister, Pat & Kathy Laabs, and Kendall & Dee Lancaster. We welcome these "youngsters" to our Texaco Reunion and hope to see you again at future gatherings.
Several couples came a few days early to enjoy some of the amenities of the Savannah area. Many of the early birds took the on-off guided tour around the Savannah area to mark spots they wanted to see later.

However, our first official event was the Monday afternoon hospitality room kick off. It was great seeing old friends again and the visiting was so intense you could hear us way down the hall from our room.

Tuesday a lot of folks took the Paula Deen Tour which included lunch at Bubba Oyster House( Paula's brother). Everyone had a great time. The only downside was that Donna McAllister tripped and fell at Bubba's injuring her middle finger( yeah, that one!) and hurting her knee. She was a real trouper though and attended the final night dinner in a knee cast/brace and waving her injured finger at everyone. She has an appointment with her orthopedic doctor this week to determine the best treatment for her knee.

The golfers played two of the best courses we have ever seen. Tuesday it was Oakridge and Wednesday we played Palmetto. Both are part of the six courses at The Landings on Skidaway Island. Palmetto is hosting the USGA Women's state championship this week and the course was immaculate to say the least.

We had great hospitality room gatherings Tuesday and Wednesday evenings before going to our group dinners. Both group dinners were at restaurants on Savannah's famed River Street and were within walking distance from our hotel.
Breakfast was included in our room rate and it was fun to see everyone visiting and enjoying each others company. We must be the most friendly and easy going group that our hotels have ever seen. At least that is what they tell us.

Later this week we will give you some options for next year and would appreciate your response on the locations shown.
Savannah was a great venue and everyone seemed to have a great time. Our first timers added greatly to the fun had by all.
Hope to see you next year.
